My Clothes Do Not Determine My Consent…

My clothes do not determine my consent!

The clothes that I wear do not determine whether or not I am going to come home with you tonight.

Nor do they give you the right to shout at me from your car window.

The clothes I wear should not make me feel as though I have to take a taxi home, rather than walk alone as soon as it gets dark.

I dress for me. Not to impress you, or anybody else.

I long for a world where we are all equal. Where I feel safe enough to walk home alone at night, without the fear of being attacked.

I long for a world where I can walk down a road without being stared at, or hearing the beep of a car horn.

If you really want to change a culture… Empower women!

Let’s raise young girls to know that being a woman isn’t just about what you look like on the outside.

Let’s teach them to be strong and confident. That they don’t have to dream of being a princess. That they have the ability to be anything they want to be.

Let’s redefine the word beautiful. Because what beautiful really means is full of beauty, and that comes from within.

Let’s compliment each other on more than just the way we look, like someones personality and intelligence.

Feminism isn’t about making women better then men. It is about freedom and equality. It is the ability for women to choose what they want to do.

Equal rights for others does not mean less rights for you.

I am obsessed with becoming a woman who is comfortable in her own skin.

Everyone should be a feminist, because everyone should believe in equality.

Feminism is not about man hating, this idea has to stop.
