“The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has ever been before.” – Albert Einstein
Where do I begin?
I used to shop. A lot. I used to spend money I didn’t have on things I didn’t need, getting myself into debt just to impress others with materialistic possessions. Until one day, I realised that non of it even mattered, non of it made me happy. It was just filling a void in my life.
I decided to clear the clutter in my life. And through this, I researched deeper into where the clothes and possessions I was buying and wearing actually came from. I became conscious of the food I was eating and the way the animals were mistreated. Now, it is in my greatest interest to try to put a stop to any suffering whether it be an animal, human being or the world itself.
For a long time I used to have this fear of being alone. I spent so much energy worrying about it that it got in the way of my truly living my life.
So to get over this fear I knew I only had one option, and that was to pack my life into one suitcase, leave my loved ones behind, and to explore the world as a solo traveller.
This is only the beginning of my journey, but I cannot explain to you the excitement I feel.
There is a beautiful world out there and I want to encourage everyone to see it.
Don’t wait around for the perfect moment. For the perfect person. And for the perfect bank account.
The perfect moment is now. The perfect person is you. And the truth is, you will never have the perfect bank account, because we always long for more.
My name is Charlotte Snowball (yes, that is my real name.) I am a travel and lifestyle blogger with a conscious.
Follow my journey across the globe. Let’s empower each other. And try to make this world better than the way we found it.
‘When you’re traveling with someone else, you share each discovery, but when you are alone, you have to carry each experience with you like a secret, something you have to write on your heart, because there’s no other way to preserve it.” – Shauna Niequist
